Want a Stall?

Professional traders, hobbyists and novice entrepreneurs can all be found at Mindil Beach Sunset Markets

There are two ways that you could join them, either as a permanent member of the Market Association or as a casual stallholder

Permanent Stallholder

A permanent stallholder is a trader who attends the market throughout the whole season. If you would like to trade from the last week in April through to the end of October, then this is the best option of entering the market. By becoming a permanent stallholder you automatically become a member of the Mindil Beach Sunset Market Association, the umbrella organisation which governs how the markets operate

Benefits of being a Permanent Stallholder

1. The nightly site rental fee is cheaper than the casual rate
2. The spot you are given is guaranteed every week
3. You are guaranteed re-admittance each year if no monies are outstanding
4. You get to vote on the development and changes within the market
5. You gain access to a network of marketeers
6. Advice and assistance in obtaining permits, improving your stall and product diversification can be obtained from Association staff

Requirements of Permanent Stallholders

1. No individual can hold direct ownership of two or more stalls
2. Every permanent stallholder agrees to pay rent for all 28 weeks of operation regardless of their attendance.
3. A security deposit of $100 for craft stalls and $200 for food stalls is payable upon acceptance of an application

Casual Stallholder

If you are unable to attend for the whole six months then it is still possible to trade as a casual stallholder if you are an arts, craft, service or promotion stall. It is not possible to trade at MBSM as a casual food or drink stall

If you would like to trade as a casual, a quick phone call to our Stall Coordinator a couple of days prior to the market is the first step in gaining entry

You can contact the Coordinator by phoning: 0414 646 543

When should I apply?

Applications for permanent stalls should be submitted prior to the first yearly General Meeting of the Association which is held in mid-March each year. Applications are accepted throughout the year however and should there be any vacancies, stallholders can be admitted during the market season.

Casual stallholders should apply at least the day before the market in which they wish to trade. It is possible however to obtain a stall right up until 5pm on the day of a Thursday market or 4pm on a Sunday.

Please send all applications to the PO Box listed in our contact details - original copies only - are accepted.
